It’s that time of year again! Back to School! Hi I’m Betsy Nava Flores, owner and broker of Harvest Real Estate and For many of us, as we begin shopping, whether in-store or online, for supplies that seem pretty basic such as crayons, pencils, notebooks, backpacks. But for many children across our region, there is a much bigger need. Since 1901, The Children’s Shelter of San Antonio has provided a safe haven for child survivors of abuse, neglect, and abandonment in San Antonio and Bexar County.
But more than providing a safe haven, The Children’s Shelter also provides a continuity of care through an array of a family of services, including emergency shelter and therapeutic foster care for children and youth. And they also provide Family Strengthening programs which teach parenting skills to vulnerable families and help families overcome crises. The Children’s shelter also provides a mental health clinic which serves through therapeutic interventions for children and families impacted by maltreatment.

The Shelter is a private non-profit organization which we believe has a great need to meet. We believe as a community we can stand alongside the Shelter and help meet even the most basic needs of the children and families served.

We welcome and encourage you to make a donation of any of the products needed. The list is included in the link below.
